Ditmars Dog Halloween Costume Contest

We are hosting our second annual Dog Halloween Costume Contest on Ditmars Boulevard, in front of Rivercrest. From 33rd Street to 37th Street, the streets will be shut down on Ditmars so the event will take place on the open streets. The registration will start at 4:00 p.m. and the judging for the contest will run from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Lagunitas Brewing Company will be sponsoring the event and will be giving away “doggy bags” to participants. Rivercrest will also be sponsoring the event and will be providing “pup cups” to the dogs that come to the event. Prizes for the winners will be provided by Rivercrest, Lagunitas Brewing Company, Bond Vet, Never Alone Pets, Astoria Animal Society, and more!

Before and after the Dog Halloween Costume Contest, we will be having more events on the open streets. Our Ditmars Family Halloween Parade will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (with a performance by Reflexion Dance before the parade starts) and will end on 33rd Street. A Family Block Party will then begin from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on 33rd Street (goodie bags, live music, games, face painting, and more). An Artisans Market will be taking place on 35th and 36th Street from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. There will be live music and DJs on 35th Street from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Mystic Nights will be taking place on 36th Street from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (tarot card readings, boozy tea, and a DJ at @terpbros.nyc).

The street shut down and all of the events are sponsored by Destination Ditmars Merchants Association (including The Brass Owl, The Tiny Owl, Queen’s Room, Bier and Cheese Collective, Rivercrest, and Q.E.D.
