FAQs
What is Walk 2 Miles 2 Save Lives?
Walk 2 Miles 2 Save Lives is a walk-a-thon event dedicated to fundraising for rescue organizations and shelters. Those that decide to participate in the walk will donate a fee (minimum $20, $10 per mile) to walk for rescues and will be encouraged to invite their dog lover friends to sponsor them along the way. There will be prizes for participants and Team Captains.
The funds will be distributed accordingly between each dog rescue organization and raise awareness of the amazing work they do and the importance of adopting.
Which rescues are participating?
Snort: Rescue brachycephalic (mostly French Bulldogs, Boston Terriers, Pugs and English Bulldogs) dogs from shelters and owners who can no longer keep them, and place them into loving homes.

Cunucu: Connecting Aruban dogs in need to the loving, forever families they deserve

Home For Good Rescue: We socialize, care for, and provide rescue dogs with life-saving medical care at our Wellness Center in Aiken, South Carolina, transport them to New Jersey, and nurture them in our network of foster families while they await adoption into loving homes. Our dogs come from high-kill shelters, hoarding situations, and conditions of abuse and neglect. We actively promote the benefits of dog ownership and educate the community of the importance of spay/neuter. We have an expansive volunteer network that plays an integral role in carrying out our mission. We do not foster to adopt.

Animal Lighthouse Rescue: Better the quality of life for Puerto Rico’s abandoned and stray dogs by transporting them to New York City, finding them temporary homes within our foster network, making sure they are healthy and adjusted, and ultimately placing them into their perfect “furever” home.

Twenty Paws Rescue: Every day, the Twenty Paws Rescue team battles an ongoing epidemic plaguing our streets, the abundance of forgotten homeless, abused and surrendered animals. Twenty Paws, a small rescue, is only able to bring their ambitious dreams to fruition with the help of an exceptional and dedicated team of volunteers, fosters, donors, and adopters. Tirelessly, the Twenty Paws team utilizes their boundless devotion to provide all Twenty Paws animals with warm and loving care until they find a forever home, including foster and veterinary care.

Near and Far Animal Foundation: Saving animals that are forgotten, abandoned, and in dire need of a compassionate helping hand right here in our land and across the globe.
A Team Captain organizes a group of friends, family, colleagues or fans of their social to come together (in a socially distanced manner) to walk 2 miles together. We require the teams to be a minimum of 5 team members (so, 6 total). You’re welcome to find others to sponsor your walk, donate more than $20 and walk more than 2 miles… that is completely up to you. The Team that raises the most money will get a prize from one of our partners.
If you’re interested in becoming a Team Captain, email us at jamie@dogspotted.com and we will send you additional information and swag.
