While these dog-inspired recipes are strictly for human consumption only, there are special mocktails, like Browser Beer or Houston-based Good Boy Dog Beer, specifically brewed for our canine buddies. So grab some alcohol and raise a toast to these 5 pup-themed cocktails.

The Bulldog Smash

What You’ll Need:

  • 2 oz bourbon
  • .75 oz Cointreau
  • 5-7 fresh mint leaves
  • 1 teaspoon of sugar cane syrup
  • Half a lemon
  • Half a pitted peach

Toss your mint leaves, lemon, sugar cane syrup, and peach into a shaker and mix the ingredients to release a mouthful of flavor. Next, add your bourbon and Cointreau and then fill up your shaker with ice. Shake like you’re a seasoned pro and strain the contents into a glass filled with crushed ice. Add a bit of flair by garnishing your Bulldog Smash with a sprig of mint.

The Salty Dog

What You’ll Need:

  • 1.5 fl oz of your preferred brand of vodka
  • 5 fl oz grapefruit juice
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt

Easy-to-make and undeniably delicious, all you need to do for these cocktails is fill a highball glass with ice before pouring in your vodka, grapefruit juice, and salt. Mix well before serving or consuming.

Feeling adventurous? Swap your Salty Dog for a Salty Chihuahua by substituting vodka with tequila. Don’t be fooled, this small-pawed poochy drink can pack a punch!

  • .5 oz fresh lime juice
  • .75 oz endive syrup
  • Club soda
  • Celery Bitters

Add your gin, lime juice, and endive syrup into an ice-filled shaker and blend the ingredients. Pour the mixture into a highball glass filled with ice and leave room for a splash of club soda. These cocktails are perfect for a poolside afternoon or a refreshing cool-down on a sunny day. Start by placing your rum, one rind-free lime, cream of coconut, mint leaves, and a cup of ice into a blender, mixing until smooth. Once the texture appears creamy (and mouth-watering), pour into a glass and garnish with a mint leaf and lime wedge.
